Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers just had the best game of any rookie at his position ever

The Las Vegas Raiders are now 2-8 and one of the worst teams in the NFL, and maybe even the actual worst, which is nothing but good news if you're on the tank train, hoping for a better draft position in the 2025 NFL Draft. But, they did showcase some good things on Sunday that are positives to look at for the future, if this is going to be the same regime for next year.
The offense looked the most cohesive it has looked all season long, despite the low points. They had some very bad penalties that kept them from having as much success as they would have liked, but they were also able to sustain very long drives that only helped them by keeping the Miami Dolphins defense on the field. And, outside of the turnover that pretty much sealed the loss by Gardner Minshew, the Raiders took care of the ball much better Sunday.
But, I don't think we can go without talking about rookie tight end Brock Bowers, who may very well be the best player on this team in 2024. He's certainly not only the best tight end in the league but the best rookie as well. And, he had one of the best games of any tight end this season, and the best game of any rookie tight end maybe ever.
Here is everything he did on Sunday by way of the Raiders PR team:
TE Brock Bowers has recorded 10 receptions on the day, becoming just the second tight end in NFL history to record multiple games of 10+ receptions in his rookie season, joining Jeremy Shockey (2 in 2002). Bowers has also eclipsed 100 receiving yards today, his first career 100-yard game. TE Brock Bowers' 13 receptions today are the most by a rookie TE in a single game since at least 1960. He is also just the 8th rookie of any position in the Super Bowl era with at least 13 catches in a game. TE Brock Bowers is also the fourth rookie in NFL history with at least 13 catches and 120 receiving yards in a single game joining Kelvin Bryant (1986), Deion Branch (2002), and Puka Nacua (2023) – the first tight end to accomplish the feat.
What Bowers has been able to do in his first season is remarkable. What he's been able to do with what he's been given is even crazier. Could you imagine this guy in a good offensive scheme with a good quarterback? Not to mention, he is really the only guy on the Raiders offense that other teams are keying in on offense to try and stop.
He is getting all of the attention of the other teams, and yet he is still going off and doing crazy things. The Raiders have the best tight end in the league, which will only make the young QBs in the upcoming draft want to come to Las Vegas even more.
The Raiders will play the Denver Broncos next before facing the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Brock Bowers’ favorite activity to do is a perfect fit for what Las Vegas Raiders fans crave
The Raiders offense was brutal in 2024.
