The main injury concern for the San Francisco 49ers following their loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday surrounded star pass rusher Nick Bosa.
But head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed on Monday that quarterback Brock Purdy is also dealing with an issue, albeit seemingly a minor one.
Speaking on his Monday conference call with local media, Shanahan said Purdy has some shoulder soreness in the wake of the Niners' surprise 20-17 home loss and is considered day-to-day.
Meanwhile, Bosa, whose departure from the game directly contributed to the 49ers' latest collapse against a divisional opponent as the Seahawks scored both their touchdowns after he left with another hip/oblique injury, will be evaluated throughout the week.
Despite now having the same issue on both sides of his body, Shanahan said Bosa has a chance to play in the 49ers' Week 12 matchup with the Green Bay Packers, one which could ultimately define their season as they look to stay alive in the NFC playoff race.
Cornerback Charvarius Ward could also feature against the Packers. Shanahan revealed Ward was at Levi's Stadium for Sunday's game and worked with a strength coach over the weekend. The All-Pro corner has missed the last two games following the death of his one-year-old daughter, Amani Joy. Ward attended the 49ers' team meetings on Monday.
Tight end George Kittle was a huge miss for the 49ers in the loss to the Seattle as he sat out with hamstring irritation. Shanahan said Kittle was "close" to being able to play and he is expected to practice on Wednesday.
There was, however, some bad news for a pair of rookies. Wide receiver Jacob Cowing is in the concussion protocol, while linebacker Tatum Bethune has a torn MCL and will be out "a while".
