Former Tennessee Vols catcher Cal Stark was used by the Hickory Crawdads as a pitcher on Tuesday night in a loss to the Rome Emperors.

With Rome up 7-0 in the 9th inning, Hickory brought in Stark to get the final out in the top of the 9th.

Stark struck out Atlanta Braves prospect Ambioris Tavarez on five pitches.

Stark, who played at Tennessee from 2023 to 2024 after transferring from Weatherford College, was signed by the Texas Rangers as an undrafted free agent shortly after the 2024 MLB Draft.

The former Vol has one hit in six at bats for Hickory. Stark's lone hit was a home run.
