Florida State baseball fans are still not over blowing a four run lead to the Tennessee Vols in Omaha earlier this summer.

Tennessee erased the four run deficit against Florida State to beat the Seminoles on the Vols' way to winning the College World Series.

The Vols beat Florida State in part because of a check swing call during a Blake Burke at bat that was ruled to be not a swing. Burke then singled to tie the game (and the Vols would then walk it off).

Florida State fans immediately flooded social media with "evidence" that Burke swung.

Two months later and Florida State fans still aren't over the check swing call.

On Saturday, Florida State opened the 2024 college football season in Ireland against Georgia Tech (Georgia Tech kicked a game-winning field goal as time expired to beat the Seminoles).

Before the game, a Florida State fan was spotted in the College GameDay crowd with a sign that said "He Swung".

Ouch, that's a tough look for Florida State fans. It's beyond time to let it go. Because here's the thing — Burke didn't swing. It was close call that could've gone either way. And it went the Vols' way. That's how it goes in baseball (it's how it's gone for over a century). No amount of complaining is changing the call. Tennessee's already had their parade — it's time to move on.

Over the last year it seems like all we've seen from Florida State fans is whining. Whether it's over missing the College Football Playoff (let's be honest — Florida State deserved to be in, but they would've blown out) or Burke's check swing, it's been nothing but an inordinate amount of whining coming out of Tallahassee.

I'm sure that'll only increase after Florida State's loss to Georgia Tech in Ireland.
