The Tennessee Vols will take on the NC State Wolfpack on Saturday night (September 7) in Charlotte at Bank of America Stadium.

Tennessee and NC State will kick off at 7:30 PM ET. The game will air on ESPN with Rece Davis handling play-by-play duties. Kirk Herbstreit will serve as the analyst. Holly Rowe will be on the sideline.

Herbstreit is typically joined in the booth by play-by-play man Chris Fowler. The duo serves as ABC/ESPN's top college football crew.

So why won't Fowler be in Charlotte on Saturday night beside Herbstreit?

The answer is simple — Fowler is in New York calling the US Open (which he has been calling since 2009). Fowler often misses a game or two at the beginning of college football season due to his US Open duties.

The US Open concludes on September 8, which means Fowler will be back in the Saturday night college football saddle the following week.
