The Tennessee Vols are off to a historic start in 2024.

Tennessee is 2-0 after two blowout wins to begin Josh Heupel's fourth season in Knoxville. The Vols destroyed Chattanooga 69-3 in the season-opener before making quick work of NC State in a 51-10 win in Charlotte this past Saturday.

According to ESPN's Cole Cubelic, this is the first time in Tennessee history that the program has scored 50 or more points in the first two games of a season.

It seems like every year Heupel has been at Tennessee, a new offensive record of some sort has been set.

And as good as the Vols have been through the first two games of the season, Heupel and his staff feel like there's still a lot of "meat left on the bone".

"As a football team, I’m proud of what we’ve done for two weeks," said Heupel after Tennessee's dominant win against NC State. "There’s a lot of meat left on the bone for us…tonight offensively, some really good things. There’s some things that we have to have to be better at and play cleaner.

"Again, there’s a lot left out for us there. Good teams continue to get better throughout the course of the year. The chemistry camaraderie is important as you continue to grow through the season, too."

It sounds like there might be a few more records broken this season by the Volunteers before it's all said and done.
