The 2024 Minnesota Vikings continue to impress against the San Francisco 49ers. When quarterback Sam Darnold connected on a 97-yard touchdown pass with wide receiver Justin Jefferson, it was just the fifth time in franchise history that the Vikings had driven 98 yards down the field.

That was just the fifth-such drive in franchise history. What's really impressive is that it's the second such drive of the 2024 season, according to The Minneapolis Star Tribune's Ben Goessling.

It's quite remarkable for this team for any team to put such a drive together. The playbook is often limited inside the 10-yard line, which can make you a little bit predictable. You also have to be careful to not get sacked in the endzone to allow a safety.

One of the other 99-yard drives happened in 2008 when Gus Frerotte hit Bernard Berrian on a 99-yard touchdown against the Chicago Bears, also after they held firm on a goalline stand.

The Vikings offense is cooking with a 20-7 lead on the 49ers.
