The Tennessee Vols are reportedly one of the top teams for one of the most coveted recruits in the nation.

According to On3's Chad Simmons, the Vols are believed to be one of the top two schools (so far), along with the North Carolina Tar Heels, for 2026 five-star tight end Kendre Harrison.

Harrison, 6-foot-7/243 lbs from Reidsville, NC, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 1 tight end in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina. He's also rated as the No. 9 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

Simmons noted that Harrison plans to visit Tennessee for the Alabama game in October.

Harrison recently transferred to Providence Day in Charlotte where he's playing alongside 2025 five-star offensive lineman David Sanders Jr, a Vols commit.

The highly touted recruit appeared to enjoy Tennessee's win against NC State in Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte this past weekend which should certainly help the Vols in this already-intense recruiting battle.

Tennessee currently has two players committed to its 2026 recruiting class, including five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon, who is from Greensboro, NC.
