Dak Prescott has been playing very well for the Dallas Cowboys since returning from injury. He is making the throws all over the field, seeing things well, and executing the offense at a high level.

As a result, Dallas has won four of five games since his return to the field. That includes consecutive wins over the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants — two potential (likely?) playoff teams. The Cowboys scored at least 28 points in both wins.

It should come as no surprise that the Cowboys are one of the best offensive teams in football with Prescott operating things. However, the numbers paint a very clear picture of just how value No. 4 is to this team and their championship aspirations.

Dak is extremely valuable to Cowboys

There is no question that Dak Prescott is valuable to the Dallas Cowboys. He's a franchise quarterback in the NFL, and the Cowboys are paying him $40 million per season. That should be the expectation.

Still, the statistics are pretty jarring. When Prescott is on the field, the Cowboys lead the NFL in points, third down conversion, and points per drive. Additionally, Prescott is top-5 in the NFL in expected points added, too.

He reads defenses very well and is running Kellen Moore's offense at a high level. And Dallas is humming on offense, as a result.

In contrast, the Dallas Cowboys are among the worst in the league in the same categories. Dallas is 23rd out of 32 teams in points, 29th in third downs, and 25th in points per drive. The Dallas Cowboys are a completely different beast when Prescott is at quarterback.

There was never any question that the Dallas Cowboys would be a lot better throwing the football when Prescott returned to action. Still, No. 4 has been playing at a high level that has Dallas in position to make a legitimate run to a championship.

Dak Prescott is proving his value to the Dallas Cowboys. His play, combined with Micah Parsons and the defense, points to big things for America's Team.
