That's exactly what they did less than 24 hours before their matchup against the Steelers.
The Bills announced the signing of fan-favorite Isaiah Hodgins to the active roster.
Additionally, they signed DB Ja'Marcus Ingram.
Bills Mafia has been clamoring for Hodgins' activation since the pre-season.
A much-needed boost
It's no surprise that the Bills needed to make a move before their matchup.
Throughout the short season, the Bills have suffered injuries on both offense and defense.
Their latest injury report was a devastating reminder that something needs to be done.
While this may not be the OBJ signing fans have been waiting for, it's a step in the right direction.
Hodgins is a fan favorite, almost immediately after being drafted, and has shown his impressive athletic ability this past preseason.
Another weapon for Josh Allen
Anytime you can give another versatile weapon to Josh Allen, it's a net positive for the team.
Knox was a big red-zone target for Allen last season.
Unfortunately, an injury designation has the talented tight end already listed as out for the game tomorrow.
Hodgins can have an opportunity to fill in the big-bodied red zone target Allen clearly loves.
Everything will be alright
Hodgins, luckily, doesn't need to light up the scoreboard tomorrow.
With Diggs still being healthy, it should take a lot of work off the plate of the young wide receiver.
Specifically, Hodgins will be competing for targets with the likes is McKenzie, Davis and Diggs.
However, the young wide receiver should get plenty of opportunities to cement himself in this offense.
The Bills' defense will look to shut down the Steelers early and often, giving Hodgins and company plenty of opportunities throughout the game.
Tomorrow can't come soon enough.
