The Chicago Bears received some brutal news on Tuesday ahead of their upcoming rematch with the Green Bay Packers.
According to a report from NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, Bears safety Eddie Jackson is out indefinitely after suffering what appears to be a "significant" Lisfranc injury.
Jackson sustained the injury in the Bears' loss to the New York Jets this past week.
This is obviously a tough blow to the Bears' defense. Jackson, a two-time Pro-Bowler, is one of the top defensive backs in the league.
Here's the play where Jackson went down.
Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney was lost for the season after also suffering an injury against the Jets.
Plenty of folks on social media — fans, players, and media — have pointed to the turf at MetLife stadium as the reason for the injuries. I don't know if that's absolutely the case, but it's certainly plausible.
Chicago running back David Montgomery, for what it's worth, feels like the turf is an issue at MetLife Stadium.
