The Las Vegas Raiders bounced back in a big way in Week 7.
Josh Jacobs looked like one of the best running backs in the NFL. Derek Carr was efficient. The defense played very well in the fourth quarter.
The Raiders looked like a team that made adjustments and can get back into playoff contention. At 2-5, it won't be an easy road.
Although, the Raiders' performance in the second half of today's game proved what their peak can look like.
Finishing games has not been a strong suit for the Raiders this year. today, they flipped the script. It was against a subpar Houston Texans team, but that team always competes.
The Raiders did not take their foot off the gas this time around. That is what good teams do against opponents that they should beat.
Derek Carr and the Raiders showed up when it mattered the most in a big way.
Carr's comments are notable because the Raiders took care of the ball today. Turnovers had been an issue all season. That was not the case today, and it kept the offense on schedule.
Staying competitive early in the game allowed Josh Jacobs to absolutely dominate. He averaged 7.2 yards per carry on his way to a 143 rushing yard performance. Jacobs had three touchdowns, too.
Derek Carr went 21/27, and Davante Adams caught eight passes for 95 yards. Mack Hollins had another solid game with a touchdown.
The Raiders will need to continue their strong play next week against the New Orleans Saints. Another win would creep them closer to the playoff race in the AFC.
