Dak Prescott elevated his game — and the Dallas Cowboys football team — on Sunday in a come-from-behind victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
Prescott scored all four his touchdowns on Sunday in the second half, as he carried the Cowboys up and down the field while trailing as much as 20 points during the game. The Falcons had no answers for the talented Prescott, who found ways to be effective through the air and on the ground.
Dak Prescott even returned from a scary hit in the second half to score a touchdown on the one-yard line on his first play back in action. No matter what the Falcons did, Prescott seemingly had an answer time and time again throughout the afternoon in AT&T Stadium.
Dak Prescott made NFL history in week two.
Prescott passed for 450 yards against the Falcons defense while adding four total touchdowns — one through the air to tight end Dalton Schultz and three on the ground. That is with two undrafted free agents starting on the offensive line.
The Cowboys signal caller became the first player in the history of the NFL to pass for at least 400 yards while adding at least three rushing scores. To say that is an impressive statistic — especially in a win — is an understatement.
Prescott already has half as many rushing touchdowns (three) through two games this season as he had all of the 2019 season (six). Here's hoping that we see the pairing of Mike McCarthy and Kellen Moore utilize Dak's effectiveness as a runner a little more often moving forward. As Prescott showed us all on Sunday, it certainly works.
Watch his highlights versus the Atlanta Falcons!
The NFL Twitter account gave Prescott a lot of recognition for his performance in week two — and deservingly so. Prescott put the team on his back and led them to victory in a game in which many felt was over after a dreadful first quarter.
The account also posted Dak's highlights from his remarkable day. It is well worth four minutes out of your day.
Prescott and the Cowboys have a big test on their hands in week three: Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle is coming off a big win over the Patriots on Sunday Night Football.
It should be a fun battle between two of the better quarterbacks in the NFL.
