Vander Esch signed a one-year deal back in March after doing enough when his fifth-year option was declined a year earlier. He's responded very solid season as his 76 tackles rank second on the team, and more importantly, Vander Esch hasn't missed any time for the Cowboys, something he's struggled with.
The writing was on the wall for rookie wide receiver Jalen Tolbert came once veteran James Washington was activated. His struggle to see playing doesn't appear to be ending any time soon.
