The Dallas Cowboys are preparing to register their 11th win of the season this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, on Thursday, some off-the-field news caused a scare.

Rookie edge rusher Sam Williams was involved in a car accident and was taken to the hospital. Luckily, Williams was released after only suffering minor injuries.

Statement from the Plano police department:

"The driver of the Corvette is Samuel Williams, a football player with the Dallas Cowboys. Both parties were transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons, but no serious injuries have been reported."

Williams will be evaluated by the Cowboys' medical team on Friday, and a determination will be made on his availability for Sunday afterward, which the team is optimistic about.

It's been quite the productive rookie season for Williams. He's registered 20 tackles (eight tackles for loss), three sacks, a forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, and seven quarterback hits in 232 snaps as a rotational piece. Also, he's logged 220 plays on special teams.

The good news for the Cowboys is that it doesn't seem that Williams will miss any playing time. However, even more important, is that Williams and all parties involved are doing well.
