The Dallas Cowboys are in the market for a wide receiver. That much is clear after the team parted ways with Pro Bowl-talent Amari Cooper this offseason.
Cooper was traded to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a fifth-round draft selection. Then, Cedrick Wilson departed in free agency, cashing in on a deal with the Miami Dolphins.
That leaves the Dallas Cowboys with CeeDee Lamb, an injured Michael Gallup, and not much else.
Dallas did sign former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout James Washington in free agency. Washington has the potential to be a solid add, but he is not a player that should stop you from adding talent at the position.
COWBOYS IN MARKET FOR WR
It appears that there is smoke that the Cowboys aren't done adding at pass catcher this offseason. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter is reporting that Dallas expressed interest in trading for Devante Parker, before Parker was traded to the Patriots.
There has been speculation that the Cowboys will go receiver in the first-round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Dallas is set to meet with likely first-round pass catchers Drake London, Treylon Burks, and Chris Olave leading up to the draft.
But trading for a receiver? That is pretty interesting news. Especially since the organization just traded away Amari Cooper.
Nonetheless, the fact that the Cowboys were interested in trading for Parker suggests that the team is looking into multiple avenues to improve the position. Brandin Cooks is another receiver rumored to be available that would make sense for the Cowboys.
As we inch closer to the draft, the speculation about the Dallas Cowboys adding a receiver continues to grow. With Michael Gallup expected to miss the start of the upcoming season, it would make sense for the Cowboys to add another productive player to the receivers room.
Whether that happens through a trade or through the draft will be interesting to follow.
