Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott

All of the talk surrounding the Dallas Cowboys is focused on Dak Prescott. The quarterback is not only up for a new contract, Prescott is also recovering from a season-ending ankle injury.

The general thought is that Prescott will make a full recovery from the compound fracture that he suffered in week five. In fact, recent reports suggest that Prescott could be 100-percent by April.

Some of that information could be coming from Prescott's camp. That said, Cowboys SI's Mike Fisher reported that a Cowboys team source is also confident in Prescott's recovery.

Season-ending injuries are certainly always tricky; however, it appears that number four is on track to make a full recovery. Prescott already holds the leverage in negotiations, and a full recovery only strengthens that.

Prescott is already running and is rehabbing at Cowboys' facility.

As Prescott works to returning to 100-percent, NFL Network's Jane Slater provided an update on Monday. Slater reported that the Cowboys quarterback is rehabbing at the Cowboys' facility "nearly everyday".

That is certainly encouraging news. Prescott's work ethic has been raved about dating back to his high school days, so it should not come to much of a surprise that he is rehabbing almost daily. The Cowboys have to be taking notice.

Additionally, Slater reported that Cowboys VP Stephen Jones and Prescott's agent Todd France have spoken with one another. Slater makes sure to point that nothing groundbreaking has occurred, but it is still relevant news that they are indeed talking.

Furthermore, CBS Sports Cowboys insider Patrik Walker added on to Slater's report. Walker said that Prescott is no longer using crutches, is out of a boot, and is able to run. That is significant news.

There has been a ton of encouraging news regarding Prescott and his rehab process as of late. The fact that he is not only out of his boot and off crutches but also able to run is big. That seems to go in line with Fisher's reporting of Prescott nearing a full recovery.

It is obvious that Dak Prescott is working extremely hard to get back to 100-percent sooner rather than later. This is the latest update on the Prescott and Cowboys situation.
