The Dallas Cowboys defense has to improve next season. That much is extremely evident. The offense should be among the best in all of football, but one side of the ball can only you take so far in the postseason.

Dan Quinn was hired earlier this offseason in hopes of giving the defensive side of the ball a big boost. The Mike Nolan Experience was an utter failure in the first season of the Mike McCarthy era. Quinn, however, has extensive history of coaching successful defenses and the hope is that continues in Dallas.

One obstacle that Quinn and the defensive staff have to overcome is the lack of overall talent on that side of the ball. There are a ton of question marks and overall weaknesses on all three levels. You know what you are going to get from DeMarcus Lawrence. Trevon Diggs showed some flashes as a rookie. After that, it gets rough.

COWBOYS DEFENSIVE LINE IS INTERESTING

The Cowboys defensive line has multiple players that have chances to make big impacts next season. Lawrence is obviously the main one. There are high expectations surrounding Randy Gregory for the upcoming year, as he has a chance to solidify a feature role for the Cowboys in 2021.

Neville Gallimore is expected to make a second-year jump after showing flashes as a rookie. The Cowboys grabbed Gallimore in the third-round in the 2020 NFL Draft. Brent Urban was signed as a free agent from the Bears in hopes of bolstering the interior of the line.

Elsewhere, Bradlee Anae did not play much at all as a rookie, but he had high hopes when the Cowboys drafted him late last year. Trysten Hill has not shown a ton since being the Cowboys' 2019 second-round pick and is coming off a torn ACL that ended his season early in 2020.

With that in mind, the Talkin' The Star crew discussed potential surprise cut possibilities along the defensive line. Is Trysten Hill in jeopardy of making the roster? Could the Cowboys part ways with Bradlee Anae after just one season? Dorance Armstrong is another player to watch.
