Josh Allen will be without one of his most dangerous weapons when his Bills (1-0) square off with the Titans (0-1) on Monday Night Football.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Buffalo’s WR Gabe Davis will be out for this evening’s game, ”barring a surprise.”

Davis suffered an ankle injury in Saturday’s practice, which led the Bills to tab him as questionable for the contest. Without Davis available, expect All-Pro WR Stefon Diggs to get a healthy diet of targets from Allen.

Jake Kumerow is likely to receive his ninth start in his five-year career due to Davis’ absence.

Davis is averaging 16.7 yards per catch through three years in the league. He hauled in four catches on five targets for 88 yards and a touchdown against the Rams in the season opener.

The Titans – who will be without starting CB Kristian Fulton’s services – catch a break ahead of this pivotal AFC showdown. Second-year pro Caleb Farley will start in Fulton’s place opposite of rookie CB Roger McCreary.

I would expect the Titans’ young secondary to blanket Diggs with help over the top, forcing Allen to beat them elsewhere.

Defensive coordinator Shane Bowen and his defense will need to be firing on all cylinders in order to contain one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL.
