A New England Patriots player showed some major respect to Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow in week 16.
Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon hit Burrow extremely late in Cincinnati's win against New England on Saturday. Judon was penalized for the hard hit to Burrow's back.
As you can imagine, Bengals fans weren't happy about the late hit.
While that was definitely a late and unnecessary hit, it wasn't malicious.
Jay Morrison, who covers Cincinnati for The Athletic, noticed while rewatching the game that Judon came up to Burrow a couple of plays later and essentially apologized.
Not every late hit is "dirty". Sometimes dudes just get caught up in the game. And that's clearly what happened with Judon on the Burrow hit.
Judon owned up to the hit — you can't ask for much more.
