According to a report from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Tennessee Titans conducted a workout with veteran quarterback Kurt Benkert in Nashville on Friday.
Benkert is 27-years-old, and a former undrafted rookie that has managed to make a career in the NFL as a practice squad QB.
From 2018-2020, Benkert was with the Atlanta Falcons, where he spent all of his time between the practice squad and injured reserve.
In 2021, Benkert was the third QB option for the Green Bay Packers behind Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love. He appeared in just one game, and was inactive for the remainder of the season before being cut by Green Bay on June 27th.

With three quarterbacks already in the room, perhaps Jon Robinson and the Titans are exploring Benkert as another option for the backup quarterback job. Or, at the very least, considering adding a veteran to the team's practice squad as a replacement for Logan Woodside.
Benkert, who Garafolo reported as “throwing well” during his working, should at least be capable of that.
This probably won't mean much in the grand scheme of things, but it does at least tell me on thing: It's not looking like great news for Logan Woodside.
If the Titans did add a QB for depth, it won’t be rookie Malik Willis that is being pushed out the door. Woodside’s one leg up on the backup job has been his experience in the system, but if the Titans are even shopping for external options, it’s clear that they are not thrilled with where he is at.
I'm still not convinced the Titans feel good about Willis being their only quarterback option behind Ryan Tannehill on the active roster. So if Woodside's poor camp has turned them off to him, it wouldn't surprise me to see the Titans outsource.
