The Cincinnati Bengals' Monday following their win over the Cleveland Browns just got way better. According to head coach Zac Taylor, edge rusher Trey Hendrickson will not be placed on Injured Reserve.
"He's got a wrist issue," Taylor told reporters on Monday. "We'll see where it's at through the week but I'm not ready to rule him out."
Not ruling out Hendrickson is a huge development for the Bengals. Early reports by Ian Rapoport and James Palmer for NFL Networkindicated Hendrickson broke his wrist, which would easily cause the edge rusher to be ruled out for next week's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Taylor elaborated on the Bengals' injury report in the press conference and claimed " it's never as bad as it could be. No one is going on IR."
"Really came into today feeling really positive about where things stand," said Taylor.
The Bengals head coach also pointed out he trusts the depth of the team which has been a huge reason why this team is 9-4 despite stars like Ja'Marr Chase and D.J. Reader missing significant time throughout the season.
Speaking of other injuries, the Bengals are designating wide receivers Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd as day-to-day. It was a bleak game for injuries on Sunday but stay tuned.
Here's a list of the updates given by the Bengals head coach:
Cincinnati might've gotten lucky despite multiple players appearing on the injury report.
