Miami Dolphins quarterback Tue Tagovailoa suffered a scary head injury on Thursday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Tagovailoa laid motionless on the field for nearly seven minutes before leaving Paycor stadium in an ambulance.
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said after the game that Tagovailoa suffered a concussion.
Tua was released from the hospital and traveled home with the team.
After the game, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was asked about his thoughts on the injury.
“It’s always scary when somebody goes down like that," said Burrow, who was drafted four spots ahead of Tua in 2020. "We play a dangerous game that we know something like that can happen at any time. It’s always scary when it does. They told me he’s flying with the team, so that’s great news. Hopefully he has a speedy recovery. I’m going to text him after here. Hopefully he comes back fast.”
Burrow and Tagovailoa know each other well. They faced each other twice in college (Tua won in 2018 and Burrow won in 2019)
Starting quarterbacks in the NFL typically have a lot of respect for each other. It's clear that's the case between Burrow and Tagovailoa.
And Burrow, along with every other football fan/player in the country, is hoping that Tagovailoa has a speedy and complete recovery.
