No one saw the Cincinnati Bengals winning the AFC and making a Super Bowl appearance last season.
As they gear up for another run at a Lombardi trophy, one thing will look a little different. The Bengals will wear an alternate white helmet in 2022, something their fans have wanted for quite some time.
The NFL instituted a one-helmet rule beginning in 2013 in the interest of player safety because new helmets aren't conformed to fit a player's head. That would be the case if an alternate helmet was used with a throwback uniform.
Well, that rule is no more, and the White Bengal tiger is coming to Southwest Ohio.
