Team leadership has been a focal point of Tennessee head football coach Josh Heupel's time on Rocky Top. He's mentioned leadership repeatedly in press conferences and appearances and his players have mentioned it perhaps even more than the coach himself.

And possibly no one is more important to team leadership for the Vols than quarterback Hendon Hooker. He's the signal caller for one of the best offenses in America and even more importantly, he's one of the oldest and most experienced players on the entire Big Orange squad.

So far during Hooker's somewhat short time at the helm of UT's offense, he's shown that he's a solid leader. But in case you weren't convinced yet, take a look at this video posted on Friday by Tennessee Football's Twitter account of Hooker reacting to footage of legendary Vols quarterback Condredge Holloway…

If you didn't catch the quote that really stuck out to me, here's what Hooker said that clearly shows me he's up to the task of leading the Vols in 2022…

"Just seeing that team camaraderie (between Condredge Holloway and his teammates) is amazing. Because that's what we pride ourselves in here at Tennessee. Just having the strongest brotherhood in college football. So, that's just amazing to see that it's really a huge brotherhood and VFL is real. You know, Vol for Life is meant with our hearts. It's just great to see that through the years it's still carried on to this day."

This guy gets it.

Hooker may still be relatively new to Rocky Top as a transfer player but it's obvious that he's made himself truly at home in the past year. Hopefully, he'll lead the current set of VFLs to a special season in 2022.
