The Chicago Bears have reportedly made their decision on quarterback Justin Fields ahead of a matchup with the New York Jets on Sunday.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Fields is not expected to be active for the Bears' game against the Jets.
Fields is dealing with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder.
This is the right decision by the Bears.
Chicago isn't fighting for a playoff spot. And Fields has already taken a beating this season. There's no reason to make things worse on their franchise quarterback. Sitting him is the right call. This is about next season for the Bears, not this season.
With Fields out, veteran Trevor Siemian will get the start.
Siemian started four games for the New Orleans Saints last season.
