It is not the best of times for the Dallas Cowboys — despite a 10-4 record. Back-to-back lackluster performances has highlighted areas of concern with the NFL playoffs just around the corner.
Turnovers have become a problem on offense. Meanwhile, the defense cannot seem to get back to the level of play that the unit enjoyed for much of the season. Neither is a great recipe for success down the stretch of the season.
There is one thing that the Dallas Cowboys should focus on for the remainder of the regular season: get Michael Gallup going. And quickly.
Gallup has had a slow season, largely thanks to recovering from a torn ACL. Still, he is a crucial part to the offense and is being relied on to succeed in an important role. CeeDee Lamb has done all of the heavy lifting while Gallup attempts to find his footing.
Get Gallup Going

Michael Gallup has had some strong moments this season. Such as grabbing a touchdown in his first game back against Washington. Or catching five passes for 63 yards and moving the chains on Thanksgiving Day against the Giants.
But, he's also been quiet this season. Too quiet. Especially for a pass catcher that Dak Prescott has gone to time and time again before. He had just one catch for two yards against the Giants, for instance.
That has to change. He needs to step up, and the Cowboys need to look his way. CeeDee Lamb cannot do everything by himself, and Dak Prescott needs to be able to spread the football around.
Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is aware. Moore took blame for the issue and stated that Gallup will get more opportunities in the passing game.
Furthermore, Jerry Jones knows that No. 13 has to be more involved in the offense moving forward. Therefore, we could see a bigger dose of Gallup in the game plan as soon as Saturday.
Perhaps Michael Gallup doesn't get fully healthy this season. That's a possibility.
But, the Cowboys have to at least see what Gallup has in the tank. He needs to be a factor in the offense and a trusted target for Prescott. Especially if the Cowboys are going to go far. It is difficult to rely on a veteran T.Y. Hilton or an up-and-down Noah Brown alongside Lamb.
Look for the Dallas Cowboys to explore this adjustment down the stretch of the season.
