Buffalo Bills starting safety Jordan Poyer knows a thing or two about quarterback play.
Some signal callers around the league might even say the 10-year veteran knows too much about the position.
So, when Poyer speaks about his own quarterback in Josh Allen it’s important to note that the guy knows his stuff.
On Sunday, Poyer was asked about Allen and his reply exudes confidence in his teammate.
“Best quarterback in the league. That’s a weapon for us. As a defensive player, like, get 17 the ball back.”
An opportunistic defense paired with the “best quarterback in the league” translates to a Super Bowl frontrunner, at least according to the Las Vegas oddsmakers.
Poyer tied his career high with five interceptions in 2021, earning him his first Pro Bowl nod. But he was also a critical piece in a Bills defense which finished third in the NFL in takeaways last season.
Sure, Allen is still chasing that elusive Super Bowl victory, but this Bills team has every top-flight talent scattered all over the place.
There is no reason as to why the Lombardi Trophy shouldn’t be sitting in the heart of Buffalo come mid-February, and Allen and Poyer will have everything to do with it.
