The Las Vegas Raiders are now in a very dangerous spot. They just loss to the Tennessee Titans to fall to 0-3 on the season. Mathematically, the Raiders' playoff chances are just about out the window. Oddly, head coach Josh McDaniels did something interesting after the game. Before addressing the media, McDaniels met with owner Mark Davis.
Of course, this could be nothing. The Raiders are not going to fire McDaniels right now. That would be way too hasty and financially unrealistic.
That being said, there was a conversation that clearly needed to happen. McDaniels' offense struggled mightily against a banged-up defense for the Titans in the first half. The unit, overall, has just been inconsistent so far this season.
QB Derek Carr is at the helm of that, along with the head coach. Carr has played well at times, but his mistakes have been back-breaking for the Raiders. The offensive line has also struggled in crunch time as well.
Regardless, the meeting with the owner was odd. It is something to monitor this week. The Raiders could make some tweaks on the staff or bring on more help for McDaniels.
