The Tennessee Titans' (5-3) Week 10 matchup against the Denver Broncos (3-5) just became much more difficult.

On Friday, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel ruled out DT Jeffery Simmons (ankle), OLB Bud Dupree (hip), LB Zach Cunningham (elbow), S Amani Hooker (shoulder), and DB Josh Thompson (knee) for Sunday’s contest.

The Titans’ defense, which put forth an epic performance in Sunday night’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, takes a major blow while the team is still waiting on an official decision with QB Ryan Tannehill.

With Simmons and Dupree sidelined, the Titans’ pass rush will be limited. The pair has combined for 8.5 of the team’s 23 sacks on the season (36.9%).

Safety Andrew Adams has done a remarkable job filling in for Hooker at times this season. However, the team’s depth at linebacker isn’t as strong with Cunningham set to miss his fifth game of the year.

The Titans have been the most injured team in football over the last two seasons. If anybody knows how to win without its key cogs, it’s the Titans.

Titans fans anxiously await an update on Tannehill, who is currently listed as questionable. Whether Tannehill is able to suit up or not, it’s the offense’s turn to help out the team’s shorthanded defense with a rested Broncos squad coming to town off its bye.
