Tennessee Titans Harold Landry injury ACL stats sacks pass rusher EDGE NFL football career draft first round

As if last season’s injury troubles weren’t enough, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Tennessee Titans’ top pass rusher Harold Landry suffered a torn ACL in Wednesday’s practice.

The news is a gut punch to the Titans, who will be without Landry’s services for the entire season.

Landry recorded a career-high 12 sacks in 2021, which ranked 10th in the NFL. He was rewarded with his first Pro Bowl nod in his four-year career.

The Titans inked the 2018 first-rounder to a five-year extension worth $87.5 million in the offseason. He will count $5.05 million against the cap in 2022, per Spotrac.

Landry was the focal point of a much improved Titans pass rush, which finished T-9 with 43 sacks just a season ago.

As the roster currently stands, the Titans will be forced to turn to outside linebackers Ola Adeniyi and Rashad Weaver to platoon the edge position.

General manager Jon Robinson will have his hands full in replacing one of the NFL’s most talented pass rushers with the season opener just 10 days away.
