The Tennessee Volunteers (18-1, 6-0) defeated the West Virginia Mountaineers (9-11, 1-6) 83-66 in Knoxville.
Although it seemed like the number one ranked Volunteers should have easily handled the struggling Mountaineers, the Vols got off to a rocky start.
However, the Vols began to take control of the game towards the end of the first half.
The second half seemed to be all Tennessee. Despite the rough start, which has been a recurring issue for the Vols in the previous few games, Tennessee still secured the win at home and continued to show why they're the top ranked team in the nation.
The Vols were led by Lamonte Turner (23 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists) in points, Admiral Schofield (14, 10, 2) in rebounds, and Jordan Bone (9, 5, 5), who tied with Turner for the team lead in assists.
