Arthur Smith is entering his first season as the Tennessee Titans' offensive coordinator and it's already apparent that he'll be bringing the intensity all season long.
On Friday, second round draft pick AJ Brown appeared to suffer an injury while running a route. The rookie wide receiver slipped and didn't finish the route. Smith, perhaps unaware that Brown was hurt, absolutely let him have it for not finishing the route.
Check it out.
Brown left the field after the play and didn't return from the locker room.
In the moment, Smith likely didn't realize Brown was hurt. He was just coaching. And the intensity he displayed has to be encouraging for Titans fans. Promoting Smith to offensive coordinator is a move that could either pay big dividends for the Titans or it could hinder the progression of the offense.
For now, I'd bet on the move paying off for Tennessee.
As for Brown's health, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel doesn't seem too concerned.
Brown left a mini-camp practice early in June due to a hamstring issue, but returned a week later and seemingly looked ok.
