The Dallas Cowboys had a rebound of a draft on day 3 filled with a handful of talented players left on the board.
Cowboys had a total of six selections in rounds 4-7 and were able to shore up their defense with 5 out of 6 picks on the defensive side of the ball.
This was the type of day that made you forget about the uncertainty of how Day one went.
Overall the Cowboys have improved their roster based off of the draft alone.
Here is my favorite Cowboys selection in the NFL Draft Day 3.
LSU LB Damone Clark
This was arguably my favorite pick in round 5 for Dallas as they another active and athletic linebacker.
The reason for his fall is due to him needing spinal fusion surgery otherwise he would have been a 2nd or 3rd round pick.
This was more of an investment pick because when he is able to get healthy, watch out because the LB core of Parsons, Cox, and Clark will be a deadly one.
Day 3 is all about potential and low risk players who you believe have the ability to make a roster or impact in the near future.
Scouts earn their money to find these types of gem such as Clark who can contribute for years to come.
How will he fit in Dallas?
As mentioned earlier, Clark is not expected to play if not at all in 2022.
When he recovers from injury, he will be in a rotation alongside Parsons and Cox at the linebacker position.
He is great sideline to sideline but can also be useful in coverage, similar the way Cox played at LSU.
The most evident part of Clark's tape was his tackling ability with 139 tackles, 15 for loss, and six sacks.
Once he returns back to form next season, look out NFC East, you have a big problem on your hands.
