Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes potentially saved wide receiver Tyreek Hill from committing a penalty on Sunday night after scoring a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Hill caught a 31-yard touchdown pass from Mahomes in the third quarter, putting the Chiefs up by 28 points.

After the score, Hill celebrated by grabbing a pom-pom from a cheerleader. Mahomes quickly realized that Hill's celebration could lead to a penalty, so he grabbed his star wide receiver and directed him away from the cheerleaders.

Good move, Mahomes.

Though any penalty would've been inconsequential at that point — the Chiefs were in complete control of the game.

But it just shows how locked in Mahomes is at all times.
