The Mavs have become a better team since the trade acquisition of Spencer Dinwiddie.

Dallas record is 11-4 since his arrival and his presence has paid dividends for the team.

There were concerns about how Dinwiddie would fit in an offense featuring Luka Doncic and Jalen Brunson in the backcourt.

Boy, has he proved everyone in Mavs nation wrong as he's been nothing short of spectacular.

Tonight against the Timberwolves, he finished with 20 points on 7-12 (58%) shooting as he continues on his playmaking trend.

Here a few reasons why Dinwiddie has become the Mavs new x-factor.

Clutch Ability

Dinwiddie put up back-to-back buzzer-beaters to secure wins against the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets.

When the team has needed a big shot or a much-needed score, he has shown the ability to show up in big moments.

For example, his performance tonight was spectacular as Doncic had an off night, only scoring 15 points (29.5 FG%).

With him shooting a high percentage, it further proves not only he can score but he is efficient.

Dinwiddie gave a big shoutout to Mavericks GM Niko Harrison for trusting him that he could return to the player he was before the ACL injury.

This was all of the confidence he needed to get back to his previous form and find ways to help Dallas win games.

So far, his clutch gene has become the missing piece the Mavs needed to compete.

Leadership & Floor General

Aside from Luka, there was not another player on the roster capable of consistently being a leader.

At times, Brunson was the second option with his numerous 20-point performances to begin the season.

With Dinwiddie in the picture, you see the leadership help uplift the team which is competing night in and out.

Dinwiddie has brought over a winning attitude which has rubbed off on each player on the roster.

Head Coach Jason Kidd has done a tremendous job in allowing Spencer to come in and take command of the locker room.

In conclusion, the Mavs are a better team with Dinwiddie around and it will be exiting to see how they can keep this up in the playoffs.
