And in a recent study by Gambling.com, the Las Vegas Raiders are considered the 10th smartest team in the NFL based on intelligence.
The Raiders' average Wonderlic score is 25.0. The top team in the league, the Minnesota Vikings, came in at a Wonderlic score of 28.7.
Football is a game based on physicality, speed and skill. However, the Raiders have the advantage when it comes to out-thinking their opponents.
How much will it help the team win football games this year? Well, that is to be decided. But, if you think back to the Chargers/Raiders game from last season, where it was winner take all and loser kick the curb — unless the two teams tied — the Raiders found a way to win.
And that way to win was linked to outsmarting the Chargers when they called an unnecessary timeout near the end of the game.
Maybe the Wonderlic score of that Raiders team played a factor in that decision.
Regardless, being ranked the 10th smartest team in the NFL can only help Las Vegas' quest for a Super Bowl.
