During the NFL Draft process prospects eventually meet with all 32 teams. Sometimes players meet at least informally or briefly with all 32 teams during NFL Combine week alone. What matters most is the list of teams that prospects "formally" meet with at the NFL Combine for interviews.
There's very limited time NFL Combine week, so teams must prioritize quite carefully in order to meet with the players they deem most important for in-person interviews.
Jayden Daniels is expected to be a top three pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by most experts, so it was quite interesting when information surfaced on his formal meetings at the NFL Combine. According to Ryan Fowler of Bleacher Report and The Draft Network, Daniels is meeting with the Patriots (pick three), Giants (pick six), Vikings (pick 11), and Saints (pick 14) tonight.
The Patriots may not have to make a trade up for Daniels if Caleb Williams and Drake Maye come off the board at picks one and two. However, if they find Daniels is "their guy" they may want to make a move up one pick slot to ensure that they get the player who they believe is the future of their franchise.
The Giants, Vikings, and Saints all would likely have to trade up in order to acquire Jayden Daniels with their first pick. Of course, they could just be doing their due diligence in case Daniels starts to fall on draft night. But all four teams are certainly within striking distance for a potential trade up to pick two or three overall.
We'll continue to monitor these four potential landing spots for the Heisman Trophy winner and former LSU star, Jayden Daniels as the NFL Draft approaches. If another quarterback stands out during the NFL Combine throwing sessions inevitably joining the top tier that might make all four of these potential landing spots even more feasible for Daniels.
