The Cleveland Browns will have a different approach to the 2024 regular season in a way when August rolls around.
Over the past couple of training camps, the Browns have battled with the Philadelphia Eagles in joint practices. In 2024, it is going to be the Vikings that the Browns host for joint practices. General manager Andrew Berry shared the news on Tuesday at the NFL Combine.
First impressions leave you wondering if the Browns and Eagles won’t be taking part in joint practices anymore because they’ll be playing in Week 1.
The Eagles will be playing one of their home opponents in Brazil during Week 1 of the NFL season to kick things off. Cleveland is one of the possible opponents and very there is momentum toward them being the one, according to Peter King.
Former Browns front office member Kwesi Adofo-Mensah is the general manager of the Vikings and is still close with Berry of the Browns. Another storyline is that the Browns will be going up against the team that Kevin Stefanski came up through as an assistant.
Kirk Cousins is set to be a free agent and they could bring him back. At this point, it’s too early to tell who the Browns’ defense will go up against in that joint practice.
A change of competition isn’t a bad thing perhaps and that’ll be the case for the Browns in August. It just may be foreshadowing that they will play an international game to start the season.
