Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has already toppled many NFL records, but he's on the precipice of another legendary achievement. On the first offensive snap of the Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, he'll claim a piece of NFL history from the one player who stands between him and achieving GOAT status.

At just 28 years old, Mahomes will become the youngest quarterback in NFL history to start in his fourth Super Bowl. He's two years younger than the previous youngest player, former New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, who started his fourth career Super Bowl at 30 years old in 2007.

Things can become even more impressive for Mahomes with a victory over the 49ers. That'd mark his third career Super Bowl win and he'd join Brady and Pro Football Hall of Fame QB Troy Aikman as the only quarterbacks to ever win three Super Bowls before turning 30 years old.

Mahomes can become the sixth starting quarterback all-time with three or more Super Bowl wins. He's 14-3 in 17 career playoff starts. With a win over the 49ers, he can become the third quarterback in NFL history with 15 or more career playoff wins joining Brady (35) and Hall of Fame QB Joe Montana (16).

In the three Super Bowl appearances in Mahomes' career to this point, he's thrown 118 passes and completed 71 (61.8 completion percentage, recording 738 passing yards. He's thrown for five touchdowns and rushed for one more, but turnovers have been a problem with four career interceptions in Super Bowls. He also has 20 rushing attempts for 106 rushing yards.

Mahomes has a tremendous record of success against San Francisco during his career, going 3-0 with 1,023 passing yards, averaging 341 per game, and recording a 106.7 passer rating. He has nine total touchdowns against the 49ers. All stats include the team's Super Bowl LIV victory over San Francisco.
