The Kansas City Chiefs are set to face the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.
It has been a long season filled with plenty of doubt and challenges for this Chiefs team, but they made it back to the dance, and they're facing a familiar opponent. Who will come out on top in the 58th Super Bowl? We'll find out in just a few short hours.
Here's a quick breakdown of this week's inactive players.
Chiefs inactive players:
- WR Kadarius Toney
- WR Justyn Ross
- RB La'Mical Perine
- CB Ekow Boye-Doe
- DE BJ Thompson
- LB Darius Harris
49ers inactive players:
- QB Brandon Allen
- LB Jalen Graham
- DE Alex Barrett
- OT Matt Pryor
- WR Ronnie Bell
- DT T.Y. McGill
- CB Samuel Womack
Observations:
The Chiefs did make WR Kadarius Toney inactive as reports indicated they would. I'm told that this wasn't a surprise. He has been practicing and playing Deebo Samuel on the scout team since the Super Bowl bye week.
Skyy Moore and Jerick McKinnon are active after returning from injured reserve this past week. Justyn Ross as an inactive is a bit surprising, but CB Nic Jones brings more special teams value to Kansas City. As does LB Cole Christiansen.
Neil Farrell Jr. is active, giving the Chiefs a pair of big bodies (Mike Pennel, also) to plug in the middle of the defense alongside Chris Jones. Felix Anudike-Uzomah is also active for the game after being a healthy scratch for the rest of the postseason.
Nothing too surprising for the 49ers this week. Brandon Allen was designated their emergency No. 3 quarterback.
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jerick McKinnon expected to be active for Super Bowl LVIII against San Francisco 49ers
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jerick McKinnon was not going to miss Super Bowl LVIII for anything in the whole world.
