Kansas City Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman began the 2023 NFL season with the New York Jets as an afterthought, relegated to backup duties. He rejoined the Chiefs via trade only to become the hero of Super Bowl LVIII, which was a fate that few would expect.

When Kansas City needed a touchdown to seal the deal in overtime, Andy Reid went to a familiar play and Patrick Mahomes went to a familiar target. Hardman caught the game-winning touchdown pass, helping to lift the Chiefs to dynasty status with back-to-back Super Bowl titles.

Directly following the game, Hardman took the lectern to talk to Jim Nantz and revealed his reaction to recording the game-winning score. At the moment, Hardman had no idea what was going on. Everything went fuzzy and he claims to have blacked out a little bit.

"I ain't going to lie, man," Hardman began. "I caught that pass and I blacked out. I didn't know what was going on until I saw Pat (Mahomes) running to me like we just won. OK, yeah, let's celebrate."

This season has been quite an interesting journey for Hardman, but now he can cap it off calling himself a champion once again and adding some new jewelry with another Super Bowl ring
