Christian McCaffrey was among a few bright spots for the San Francisco 49ers on offense in Super Bowl 58.

McCaffrey had his way on the ground against the Kansas City Chiefs. McCaffrey rushed the football a total of 22 times for 80 yards against the Chiefs. He wound up posting a 3.6 yards per rush attempt average in the contest.

The Chiefs did not have much of an answer for McCaffrey in the air. The reigning AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year award winner recorded eight receptions for 80 receiving yards and one touchdown in the biggest game of his career.

As noted by OptaStats on X, formerly known as Twitter, McCaffrey became the first player to log 75-plus rushing yards and 75-plus receiving yards in a Super Bowl.

McCaffrey’s 2023 season did not conclude with a Super Bowl win, but he sure had a campaign to remember. The all-around running back scored an astounding 26 total touchdowns in the season, including the playoffs.

McCaffrey sure will enter next season among the serious contenders to win both the NFL MVP and NFL Offensive Player of the Year honors.
