Tennessee Vols fans were robbed of the ultimate Super Bowl moment on Sunday night by a former SEC standout. 

Former Vols wide receiver Jauan Jennings had arguably the best game of his professional career for the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII. 

Jennings threw a touchdown, caught a touchdown, and even drew a key holding penalty in overtime. 

And he was open for the go-ahead touchdown in overtime, a catch that likely would've won Jennings Super Bowl MVP honors if the 49ers could've won the game. 

But Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones, a former Mississippi State standout, managed to get pressure on 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, which caused an inaccurate pass that landed incomplete. 

The 49ers then had to settle for a field goal, which gave the Chiefs the opportunity to win the game with a touchdown (which they did, thanks to a touchdown reception by former Georgia wide receiver Mecole Hardman).

Jennings played out of his mind on football's biggest stage. But unfortunately for the former Vol, it wasn't enough to take down Patrick Mahomes and company. 

After the game, Jennings was understandably in a solemn mood after coming incredibly close to winning his first Super Bowl ring.
