In the NFL, injuries are inevitable, unfortunately. During Super Bowl LVIII, the Kansas City Chiefs dealt with an injury that flew under the radar.

Chiefs backup left guard Nick Allegretti played through most of Super Bowl LVIII with a torn UCL. Patrick Mahomes sent him a message on social media on Tuesday evening.

Allegretti played 79 offensive snaps in place of All-Pro LG Joe Thuney who was ruled out of the game with a severe pectoral strain. He stepped up when KC needed him the most, and that cannot be understated in the biggest game of the year. Allegretti suffered the injury in the second quarter of the game.

His team needed him, and Allegretti was committed to helping them secure their second straight Super Bowl title.

The Chiefs offensive lineman proved that he is truly tough as nails. Mahomes and his teammates certainly noticed that. Fans will appreciate his toughness and his teammates' support.
