The Tennessee Titans are reportedly hiring a former Tennessee Vols quarterback to serve on new head coach Brian Callahan's inaugural coaching staff in Nashville.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Thursday morning that the Titans are hiring former Las Vegas Raiders interim offensive coordinator Bo Hardegree to serve as the franchise's new quarterbacks coach.
Hardegree played at Tennessee in the mid 2000s before joining David Cutcliffe's staff at Duke as a graduate assistant.
Hardegree, who is from Jackson, TN, has a history with Callahan.
In 2014, Callahan was an offensive assistant and Hadegree was a quality control coach with the Denver Broncos. Vols legend Peyton Manning was the Broncos' quarterback that season.
Hardegree has spent time as an assistant coach with the Broncos, Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, New England Patriots, and the Raiders. He was hired as the Raiders' quarterbacks coach ahead of the 2022 season before getting promoted to interim offensive coordinator for the final half of the 2023 season.
Hardegree's stint as the Raiders' interim offensive coordinator was the first time in his coaching career that he's called plays.
