One of the biggest weaknesses for the New York Giants over the past two seasons has been their offensive line.
This past season, the Giants allowed a league-worst 85 sacks. That is simply unacceptable. Now, not all of that blame goes to the OL. The Giants played a bulk of the year with backup quarterbacks, and their totality of weapons are mediocre outside of Saquon Barkley, who may not be back next season.
OL coach Bobby Johnson was relieved of his duties when the season ended. Accordingly, they are hiring a very well-respected offensive line mind around the NFL.
New York has begun its rebuild of offensive line staff with former Las Vegas Raiders OL coach Carmen Bricillo.
Bricillo spent three years in New England with Bill Belichick before joining the Raiders under Josh McDaniels. In just about five years of time, Bricillo has risen the ranks and become a known name in the offensive line world.
The Giants have spent a plethora of draft capital to build their current OL, but that shouldn't (and probably won't) stop them from spending more in this year's NFL Draft.
They hope that Bricillo's experience and knowledge will help them build a top OL in the NFC in the coming years.
