Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was named to the 2023 AP First-Team All-Pro on Friday. Jackson ended up receiving 45 out of 50 first-place votes.
Jackson put together quite a prolific season in his sixth campaign with the Ravens. He tallied 4,499 total yards and 29 total touchdowns over 16 regular season games played. He rose to the occasion in several highly anticipated contests, including in Baltimore’s 56-19 home win against the Miami Dolphins, where he threw five touchdown passes.
If a recent trend holds, then Jackson should start making more room in his trophy cabinet.
Over the previous 10 years, the quarterback who was named to the First-Team All-Pro went on to win the NFL MVP honor, as noted by ESPN Stats and Info. Just last year, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes earned First-Team All-Pro honors and then took home the 2022 NFL MVP award a month later.
Jackson was last awarded the NFL MVP honor back in the 2019 season when he logged 43 total touchdowns.
