The Los Angeles Chargers opened up a new era on Wednesday, as they agreed to terms with Jim Harbaugh to become their next head coach. The Chargers and Harbaugh reportedly reached an agreement on a five-year contract deal.
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was among the first who congratulated Jim on his return to the NFL. John also had a simple reaction to the headline-making news.
"My thoughts are, we play them next year," Harbaugh said during a press conference on Thursday.
Harbaugh also added that the "Chargers just got themselves one great coach."
The Harbaugh brothers will square off in the 2024 season, as the Chargers will host the Ravens for a regular season contest. The two AFC sides met in regular season play this year, and it was Baltimore who had the last laugh thanks to a 20-10 victory.
John owns the bragging rights against his brother in the NFL. He boasts a 2-0 head coaching record over Jim, which includes Baltimore's dramatic 34-31 win against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 47.
John currently has his sights set on Baltimore’s AFC title game matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, while Jim sure is already looking ahead to the upcoming free agency period.
