The San Francisco 49ers' offensive coaching staff continues to prove popular among teams looking for new coaches.

Now the man credited with playing a huge role in Brock Purdy's development is under consideration for a coordinator job.

Per Nick Underhill of New Orleans.football, quarterback coach Brian Griese, along with passing game specialist Klint Kubiak, interviewed for the New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator role, which became vacant after they fired Pete Carmichael.

Griese joined the 49ers' staff for the 2022 season, which was expected to be the first season as a starter for Trey Lance, only for an injury in Week 2 to end his hopes of being the long-term answer for San Francisco.

But Griese's work in maximizing Jimmy Garoppolo's talents before his Week 13 injury and in getting Purdy to a level where he was able to seamlessly step in and take the reins and then produce MVP caliber play for most of the 2023 season has greatly enhanced the reputation of the former Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears quarterback.

Kubiak, previously an offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings and passing game coordinator for the Broncos, previously interviewed with the Bears. Chicago hired Shane Waldron as its OC for 2024.
